International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals: actors and implementation
June 14 @ 9:00 am - June 16 @ 3:00 pm UTC+0
17 goals to transform our world! The International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals: actors and implementation is a leading international meeting for the analysis and debate between all national and international actors involved on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Actual societies need a global transformation and a clear commitment towards sustainable development, the reduction of social inequalities and the improvement of living conditions at local and global level. SDGs are a response to this need: a universal, ambitious, sustainable development agenda involving education, health, environment, industry, justice, cities, etc.
The effective collaboration between governments/public agencies, universities/research centers, enterprises and NGOs is a key strategy for the implementation of the SDGs. This International Conference, hosted by GUNi, will gather experts and high level practitioners from around the world for debate, share ideas and promote new actions at international, regional and local level.
During the conference, participants from around the world will meet to discuss, debate, listen to experts from different fields and exchange experiences and expectations around the challenges for the different stakeholders involved in the implementation of the SDGs. During these debates special attention will be paid to the role of knowledge, science production and interaction between local and global arenas.
“Reflecting on the [Millennium Development Goals] and looking ahead to the next 15 years, there is no question that we can deliver on our shared responsibility to put an end to poverty, leave no one behind, and create a world of dignity for all” (UN Secretary-General, Banki Moon)
